The land was lost Some fled to sea They took a ship Their time to flee Three days passed Before the sky They left behind Was red and dry When they found land again It glowed amber in the night As they approached the new shore Fires burning flesh and wood alight Shadows moved before the light Walking crooked, standing bent The same shapes that took their homes And heard the horns that evil sent And so once more they were forced out Back to sea with no home in mind Loved ones left behind were now dead Or worse turned to drones of dark kind Soon food would be scarce and then gone A choice to starve or risk capture Would they live to tell their black tale Or be caught in the grim rapture And so they returned Armed with oars and hooks To either vanish Or make history books They came ashore To where the scourge had been But all trees were burned And no life to be seen As far as any could see Only ash to eat Only one way to survive To taste forbidden meat And so their tale ends there Their need became defeat For only one can walk away When friends are made of meat
