about

The second of a series of theme albums, and the second half of twin albums following, 'A Dark Path Vol.a: The Human Prince'.

Designed to tell a story it is recommended to listen to this album in its entirety to properly experience the intended journey. Detailing in mood the life of an elven prince raised in mystical woodlands where he is slowly lured by the darker arcane arts and corrupted, chasing power to invade the divine realm.

Hard to pinpoint overall specific influences as this project came about through a specific chain of events, and there was little to draw upon when Orc was initially active (2000-2003) or at least what there was was hard to find.
But aside from various soundtracks to Television, film, and computer games, and brief exposure to one or two of the side projects of black metal bands of the 90s, there were components of various bands that built Orc.
The biggest influence would be Coil (especially the albums 'Horse Rotorvator' and 'Scatology'), Fad Gadget (the album 'Incontinent' which had some very medieval overtones), Killing Joke (for their very tribal approach to percussion), Ministry (percussion on 'The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste' and subsequent tour), and the last track of this album is a homage to the last tracks on Skinny Puppy's 'Bites' album.
Additionally, on this particular album, Goblin would have been a very big influence.

Production Note: This album is released in a lower volume than most Bent Helical releases because it was necessary to preserve the dynamics and range within each track as pushing for production loudness sacrificed far too much. As volume 1 did not suffer so (at least not in a way that seemed too detrimental) it is a louder album, so please, for beast results play loud.
